For the first time, the annual NWPL Pride Cup was played in Brisbane during Round Seven of the National Water Polo League (NWPL). The Brisbane Barracudas hosted local rivals, the Queensland Breakers at the Valley Pool.

The Barracudas took home the Pride Cup with a convincing win against the Breakers. Ahead of the NWPL Pride Cup clash, the first ever All-Stars Pride Shield match took place.  The Brisbane Tritons, Melbourne Surge, Sydney Stingers Waterpolo, along with one development team member from the Brisbane Barracudas and Queensland Breakers formed two All-Stars teams who played for the newly created Pride Shield. Thank you to the players, sponsors, Water Polo Queensland, Water Polo Australia, and supporters for a brilliant afternoon of water polo!
