So you want to join in the fun and excitement of the Rainbow Grudge Match and have your chance to win the coveted Rainbow Cup?
Well this time around things are going to be a little different. We’re mixing things up LITERALLY!!!
In this special once-off edition of the Grudge Match you will not be playing with your club teams. Instead you will be a part of a team made up of players from the Perth White Pointers, Melbourne Surge, Sydney Stingers and the Brisbane Tritons. All teams will be mixed gender and skill.
There has been a lot of growth in our sport and clubs over the last few years, so this tournament will be an opportunity for you all to meet, mix and mingle with players from other clubs who you might not have had the chance to meet before.

We recommend staying within walking distance of the Fortitude Valley pool, which is in the inner-city. If you prefer to stay with family or friends, the Fortitude Valley train station is nearby and public transport fares are 50c.

REGISTRATION & TEAMS
You will register as an individual, and we will allocate you to a team, with the goal of evenly balancing all the teams.
To assist with this we will ask you how long you have been playing water polo for and to self-assess your water polo skill levels. We may also share this information with representtives of the other clubs to help in this process.
You must register (click below) by Saturday 30th March.
Teams will be announced by Wednesday 2nd April.
You will be able to join a team chat in whats app from this point.
You will also be able to meet your team at the Meet & Greet in Brisbane on Friday 4th April.
TOURNAMENT
The tournament will be played on one day on Saturday 5th April. Games will be at the Fortitude Valley Pool (432 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006). There are two fields and games will be played simultaneously. We have the entire pool complex booked.
The rules, format and schedule of the tournament will be finalised once team numbers are known and will be made available prior to the 4th April. Currently we anticipate starting no earlier than 8am, and finishing no later than 6pm. There is a concurrent state champtionship and as such we will be relying on community referees for this tournament and we expect players to show them respect.
Entry (paid to the pool) is $6.65 at the time of writing. There may be a sausage sizzle or similar (TBA), there are many cafes and restaurants nearby.
